What an amazing Easter. Sunday marked the third Easter celebrated by the Outpost since its humble start, and the house was packed! Dozens of potted flowers, piles of food, great coffee. Our "free table" was stacked high with donated Bibles and brand new commentaries, as well as a stack of thick concordances. Best of all, we barely set out enough chairs to hold a record crowd of people, visiting and otherwise, who showed up to celebrate our Risen Lord! Final count: 92 adults, 14 kids.
We started the service with an amazing video followed by worship led by the wife of one of our elders and her team of musicians playing electric keyboard, guitars, our new electric drum kit and a sweet violin. I had the privilege of preaching on the big day and our service ended with a 10 minute drama chronicling God's story of creation, incarnation, crucifixion and resurrection. The highlight of the service? 2 young men raising their hands at the end to indicate their decision to follow Christ. JESUS LIVES! And now they do too.

Wow - sounds like an awesome service, I'm really sorry we missed it! I'm sure that record number in attendance is just a small reflection of what's to come!
ReplyDeleteHi Josh! Just popping in to say "Hi" and tell you I started a blog too... so you can watch me put together my new salon up here in Washington... so you'll know how to pray!
